Job Description

We are a dedicated health service committed to enhancing the health outcomes of Aboriginal people within our community. Our focus is on providing high-quality, culturally appropriate primary healthcare and education services. We are currently seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse to join our team and make a positive impact in the lives of our clients.

About the Role

As a Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for delivering high standards of primary health care and education to our clients. You will work closely with GPs, specialists, and other health professionals to provide comprehensive and culturally appropriate healthcare services that support the holistic well-being of Aboriginal people in the community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide primary health care services in line with clinical guidelines and policies.
  • Collaborate with GPs, specialists, and other team members to ensure quality care delivery.
  • Develop and implement care plans to meet the health needs of clients.
  • Participate in health promotion and chronic disease management programs.
  • Support the delivery of outreach services to local communities as required.
  • Maintain accurate clinical records and manage treatment room stock.
  • Adhere to infection control and health and safety policies to ensure a safe environment.
  • Contribute to continuous quality improvement activities

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Nursing Qualification. 
  • Current and unrestricted AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
  • At least 3 years of post-graduate nursing experience.
  • Have recent experience in midwifery/paediatric or primary health care in an Aboriginal Medical Service setting.
  • Be Immunisation certified.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver high standards of clinical care.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Teamwork and collaboration skills.
  • Current driver’s license.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
