Wirraka Maya Health Services Aboriginal Corporation is an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service designed to ensure our clients' journey through the health system meets their medical, health, social and cultural needs with a vision that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in the Pilbara have the opportunity to live a health life, with access to culturally appropriate, holistic primary and allied healthcare; social and emotional wellbeing services and education.
About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated Aboriginal Liaison Officer (Female) to join our team in supporting early childhood, child and family health services within Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in ensuring children are healthy and developmentally ready for school.
Your Impact
In this vital role, you will:
- Work closely with healthcare professionals to ensure culturally safe and appropriate health services
- Build strong partnerships with key stakeholders including the Department of Education and community services
- Act as a crucial link between healthcare providers and the community
- Support families in accessing maternal and child health services
- Advocate for clients and help resolve their concerns
- Promote community awareness of available health services
- Assist with coordinating appointments and home visits

- Child Health Services support (including immunizations, health checks, and developmental services)
- Maternal Health Services support (including antenatal and postnatal care)
- Community engagement and advocacy
