Wirraka Maya Health Services Aboriginal Corporation is an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service designed to ensure our clients' journey through the health system meets their medical, health, social and cultural needs with a vision that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in the Pilbara have the opportunity to live a health life, with access to culturally appropriate, holistic primary and allied healthcare; social and emotional wellbeing services and education.
Responsibilities:
- Liaise with appropriate government and non-government organisations
- Provide support to clients who are attending court through appropriate referrals.
- Provide support and assistance to clients requiring housing, family services and assistance with Centerlink
- Visit and provide support to clients who may be in refuges, as required
- Assist families and friends of clients who are in detox or rehabilitation
- Assist clients to improve daily living skills such as budgeting, drug and alcohol awareness and confidence building skills
- in collaboration with other staff member at Wirraka Maya, implement education and health promotion for clients and the community
- Provide advice, education and referrals for clients as required
- In collaboration with and under the supervision of the Health Services Manager and the SEWB Manager, assist to organise community days as required.
