Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and work in collaboration with other staff at Wirraka Maya and external agencies in implementing education and health promotion for adolescent clients
  • Work closely with clients to provide support, assistance and guidance in dealing with issues affecting young Aboriginal people in the area (e.g. risk of exposure to drug and alcohol abuse, risk of exposure to sexually transmittable diseases, reducing the uptake of tobacco, alcohol or illicit drugs, access to upskilling and empowerment within the community)
  • Identify opportunities to educate youth, young adults and their families by addressing key areas of concern through provision of intervention programs
  • Work in collaboration with other agencies and community workers in working with youth and young adults building resilience
  • Identify opportunities and provide education on training and employment options for the future
  • Provide advice, education and referrals for clients as necessary
  • Provide out of school activities for education
  • Work collaboratively with other staff of WMHSAC;
  • Prepare and present monthly reports as required
  • Identify the workforce needs of the TTA team and develop and implement objectives for the
  • improvement of workforce capacity in consultation with SEWB Manager.
  • Work closely with other service delivery teams on the coordination of service delivery in order to optimise participant outcomes.
  • Ensure that all reporting, planning, data entry and administrative requirements are fulfilled
